The Rolex Turnograph 1625 has been produced for many years within the Rolex range in fact it was first produced in 1959 and can claim to be the first full production Rolex to have a rotating bezel. Although rotating bezels went on to be a significant part of the sports Rolex collections the turnograph actually is part of the Datejust family. The nickname of thunderbird originates from the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron established in 1953 and the world’s first supersonic precision aerobatic team. A pilot within the team was so impressed with the watch that it went on to become the teams first choice wristwatch.

This model 1625 is powered by the 1575 chronometer rated movement and is housed in a 36mm stainless steel case with 18ct yellow gold bidirectional rotating bezel. The dial is champagne with baton markers for the hours and small tritium dots. The watch has a 8,000,000 serial number and can be dated to a production period of 1972-3, it’s in fantastic condition for its age it’s obviously been well looked after.

It comes supplied on a non branded strap with a plated pin buckle and a ROSH Jewellers presentation box. We offer a ROSH jewellers 12 month warranty.
